The ramblings of Rich Bishop

Hello I'm Rich Bishop. I talk about life, the universe, politics and web development. All my own views (and mostly joking), not of Rich Media Ltd (where I'm the boss and a web developer), Staffs Uni (where I'm a part-time lecturer), Mediche Ltd (where I'm a Director) or KicFM (where I'm a trustee)

A touching tribute from B3ta to Neil Armstrong who sadly passed away aged 82. A “reluctant American hero” (his family) “[...] a hero not just of his time, but of all time.” (Barack Obama)

Samsung told to pay Apple $1bn

Samsung (South Korean) told to pay Apple (US) $1bn by an US judge, in a US court, with a US jury, at a time where the US needs all the financial help it can get http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-19377261

To be completely frank though, we were advised by our lawyers to stay out of the US (and India and China) with the http://mediche.com device, because in 9/10 patent infringement cases US (/Indian,Chinese) courts find in favour of US (/Indian,Chinese) companies, regardless of blame.

Yep… that’s right my American friends… you’re legal system is compared to that of India and China!

I can see a counter-suit in EMEA coming up… and I don’t think it’ll go the same way.

A US jury has said Samsung should pay Apple more than $1bn in damages in an intellectual property row.
