Start8 for Windows® 8 – Bringing back the Windows Start menu

I have found a way to finally use Windows 8…. http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/

For $5 you can disable the “Metro”/”Modern”/”WinGUI” interface, and get back to a sensible desktop, with a start menu, and still take advantage of all the improvements in Windows 8!

How to get from Stafford to Lichfield in 12 “easy” steps… 1) Get to Stafford Train Station 2) My card was refused by the ticket machine 3) It was then also rejected by he counter chip&pin 4) It was then also rejected by the cash point outside 5) By this point I’d missed the train 6) I then had to ring Lichfield to tell them I was going be 30 mins late (for a 3.75hr tutorial – no biggy) 7) Ran to Co-op Bank to find out what was going on.. Turns out my chip had been wiped 8) Got some cash from Co-op, went back to the station and tried again. … Got on the train, albeit late, all is well. Then… 9) Get to Lichfield Trent Valley to change train and find that no trains are running because “A vehicle has struck a bridge” – I now have 18 minutes to do a 30-odd minute walk 10) Spot a random bus going in roughly the direction I want, jumped on 11) We pull up just outside the City Centre and the driver just gets off and walks off 12) I then end up running the last 10mins… And finally get to the classroom at 14:05 (35 mins late)… Oh and knackered! Sorry Class :-(
